Necesidades is a music and video performance composed and created by Hans Timmermans, also known under the name of his solo project Budha Building. Necesidades is all about the contradictions in our needs. The search for recognition but also the drive to be unique, is an example of such a contradiction. Pressure, chaos and stress are the opposites of relaxation, rest and awareness. The inspiration for the performance comes from the movies of Ron Fricke and Godfrey Reggio. They were the founders of 70mm films like Baraka, the Qatsi trilogie and Anima Mundi. Necesidades was filmed during journey from Moscow tot Tokyo. From this material a foundation for a performance was made. Contrasts come alive when musician?s and vj?s improvise directed by Hans Timmermans and using his music and images as their source for creative expression. Interaction and atmosphere are important elements and fundamental aspects within the compositions of Hans Timmermans.
His music can be best described as a mix of downtempo, ambient and ethno. During this performance Hans Timmermans will be accompanied by Eric van der Westen (Quadrant) on contrabass, Paul van Gerven (Artefact) on drums and Mete Erker (Groovetroopers) on Sax. Marcel van der Linden (Beamstream) alias Vj West will make image improvisation. (Occupational changes may occur)

In the past years, Hans Timmermans has focused on the writing and producing of music for different productions, expositions, presentations and performances. Amongst other projects, he produced music for the dance theatre production ?Bugelfrei? and de theatre production ?Nest? (Peggy Olislaegers). Together with Lady Aida he made the remix of The Ripplets, produced the album of Ravenglass and orchestrated the music for the cartoon / puppet series ?Eefje Wentelteefje? (VPRO, Villa Achterwerk). The music of his solo project Budha Building was used during ?MTV The Cribs?, several VH1 music documentaries (Ashanti etc), America?s Next Topmodel, ?Making of the Band? and the year-overview of Scifi channel.
Hans Timmermans also produced the music for the music theatre production of Droeh Nankoe and he wrote music for the UNICEF commercial ?Kindertekening? (the drawing of a child).

To attract more attention to his film-based music, Hans Timmermans also visualises his music by using VJ techniques. Necesidades will be the first production in which all the videomaterial that is being used was self collected during the Trans Siberia Express journey. Apart from visualising his own work, Hans also created videosettings for the dancetheatre production of ?ZzzoommM? (Conny Jansen), Streets Ahead (In Between) en Rush (Productiehuis Brabant).
