Dhroeh Nankoe & Budha Building
De combinatie van klassieke Indiase muziek met een breed scala aan ethno-ambient invloeden en cinematische electronische muziek, vormen de basis van de composities waaraan Dhroeh Nankoe en Hans Timmermans (Budha Building) werken voor hun CD die medio september uit gaat komen. Tijdens Festival Mundial vindt in dit kader hun eerste gezamenlijke optreden plaats. Op de verzamel CD van Mundial 2009 valt alvast een voorproefje te beluisteren. Beide musici hebben hun sporen in de internationale muziekscene ruim verdiend. Eerder werkten zij samen voor hun theatertour ‘Day & Night’ waarmee zij door Nederland toerden. Op Mundial zijn zij te zien samen met diverse Indiase musici.

Dhroeh Nankoe
Dhroeh Nankoe is zanger/componist
voor wat betreft klassieke- en licht klassieke Indiase muziek. Zijn
uitvoeringen staan voor kwaliteit van het hoogste niveau: In Europa is Dhroeh
ongeëvenaard en de pers roemt hem om het gemak waarmee hij de meest gecompliceerde
improvisaties laat horen. Dhroeh verzorgt al tientallen jaren regelmatig
gastlessen en interactieve concerten voor kinderen vanaf 4 jaar (bijv.
interactieve kinderconcerten in het Amsterdamse Concertgebouw; het
Wereldkinderfestival en het Kinderboekenbal (workshop Indiase percussie)
Dhroeh heeft muziek voor radio- en televisieprogramma's voor de grote omroepen in Nederland gecomponeerd. Ook heeft hij een muzikale bijdrage geleverd aan de eerste Nederlandse Bollywoodfilm, gemaakt door de VPRO. Naast de pure vormen van klassieke- en licht klassieke Indiase muziek wijdt hij zich ook aan meng- vormen van Indiase muziek: bijvoorbeeld met jazz, flamenco of Westerse klassieke muziek
Talrijke muziekbewonderaars hebben reeds genoten van zijn optredens tijdens bijvoorbeeld Pinkpop 2006 met Bløf (60.000 bezoekers); in Carré met het Metropole Orkest en ook in Carré met Leonie Jansen, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Twarres en Edsilia Rombley; het boekenbal (compositie/optreden met Willeke Alberti in de Amsterdamse Schouwburg), de vele optredens in het Amsterdamse Concertgebouw en het Tropeninstituut (o.a. voor z.K.H Prins Claus); het filmfestival van Cannes en de Love Parade in Berlijn.
Budha Building
Budha Building stands
for sphere. This is the element that is the bases for this ambient, & ethno
orientated downtempo electronical music with very abstract characteristics. The
organic and acoustic music of Budha Building is created using samples,
sequencers and synthesisers. Any live performance of Budha Building is unique
because the whole set always is sequenced and arranged live. By performing
together with guest musicians, Budha Building explores new boundaries within
his own music. To attract more attention to his motion picture kind of music,
Hans Timmermans also visualises his music by using VJ techniques.
In the past years, Hans Timmermans has focused on the writing and producing of music for different productions, expositions, presentations and performances. Amongst other projects, he produced music for the dancetheatre production "Bugelfrei", all the music for the DVD production Ziek (sick), theatre production "Nest" (Peggy Olislaegers). composed the music and soundscapes for the cartoon / puppetseries "Eefje Wentelteefje" (VPRO, Villa Achterwerk). Hans Timmermans is also a member of the project Quadrant Extendend from Eric vd Westen and E-Quad.
Through a publishing deal with the New York Publisher "PUMP", more than 16 compositions of his solo performance "Budha Building" where used by more the 100 American Television programmes. The music has been used during "MTV The Cribs , America's Next Topmodel", "Making of the Band"and several Discovery, HBO, Animal-Planet Scifi and VH1 music documentaries.
Budha Building has played on several festivals. For instance, Hans performed at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Festival Mundial (Tilburg, The Netherlands), Virus (Eindhoven, NL), Streetfestival (Vlissingen, NL), TransEuropeHall (Kopenhagen), Mind the Gap festival (Houthalen, Belgium and Melkweg, Amsterdam) and the Erasmus Festival (Tilburg, NL). During the last decade Budha Building played as the supportact for Hawkwind, Grotus, PSychic Warriors Of Gaia, Robert Leiner, and went on tour as the support act for Kong and Shine.
